SY was born in Paris and has lived in London, Paris, New York, Rome, Reunion Island and now McGregor. He worked as a photojournalist based in Rome for several years and has had his photographs published in several international magazines.

It is in McGregor that SY began to discover his artistic penchant. He has taken more than 170 portraits of local members of the community and The McGregor Tourism Association graciously hosted an exhibit of his work in December 2021/January 2022.

Although SY has chosen portraiture as his focus he is always looking out for different avenues of expression through the lens of his camera. He loves photography as it pushes him to see beauty in the simplest of things.

SY’s passions are photography, cooking, and his dogs. Did I mention his dogs?
